Hayman Sweet Potatoes

  • Season: Usually ready for Thanksgiving

  • Why isn’t it orange? Not your typical orange, a Hayman Sweet Potato has a sweet, white flesh with greenish-yellow hues. It was originally introduced to North Carolina in the mid 1800s by Captain Hayman after this visit to the West Indian Islands. It is now a staple for most that live on the Eastern Shore and is slowly making its way into mainstream grocery.
