We welcomed 10 baby chicks and 2 baby ducks in Feb/March 2023 to the Grizzard home. Since day 1, they have been spoiled with the highest quality organic foods, treats, and because Michelle works from home, they have the luxury of free ranging and getting pets, every day.
We will have a beautiful assortment of brown, pink, and blue chicken eggs for sale at Grizzard Farms in the Farm Stand.
We just added 2 new ducks to our flock, Bubbles and DooDoo! We have plenty of Duck Seeds now.
BOP
Bop is the only dude at the grizzard coop. He loves to protect Pikapi by nibbling our ankles and any loose skin possible. His favorite treat is peas.
Pikapi
Precious Pikapi. She doesn’t have a care in the world and purrs whenever she eats food. She used to love hanging with all her girlfriends, until Bop hit puberty and ruined everything. We had to separate them, but she does love her Bop and can still see her friends through the fence. The best part of the day is when Pikapi hears you coming and gives you a few loud excited quacks!
GROGU
Grogu is not only our “mascot” on our label for CHICKEN SEEDS, she is Head Hen. She has chocolate brown eyes and makes sure the nests are always ready and everyone is using them properly. She loves attention and loves to supervise the humans.
ESTELLE
Estelle is our favorite girl and is named after Michelle (her middle name). She is the bottom of the pecking order so she does get picked on the most but she is so sweet and gentle. It took her a while to warm up to us as a baby but now she likes to stay close.
DING DING
She is our prettiest gray girl and was our bravest one as a baby. Now she lives in a dream-like state enjoying a life of lounging and foraging. She will randomly make high pitched noises and her bestie is Estelle.
DANDRA
Named after my twin sister, Sandra - who had a typo on her mail one time, Dandra embodies “don’t touch me”. I think I can count on one hand the number of times she has let us touch her. She is quick and probably part hawk.
AVRIL
Born with thick black eyeliner, Avril has really grown into the emo persona. She is hard to catch, always suspicious, and insecure. She is the bottom of the pecking order after Estelle and she is determined to eat her sisters feathers. We think she is pecking out her own feathers too (self harm is so emo). We are working on this.
MORTICIA
Her feathered legs reminded us of Morticia Adams, and it stuck. She is an old soul and has an ease about her. She is also probably our biggest girl.
DAFFY
This looney tune reminded me of Daffy as a baby because of her little tail that always pointed straight up. We can always count on her to sound the alarm when danger is near.
DUCKY
We needed a Ducky to our Daffy! Ducky has grown to be a bit of a jerk sometimes but we love her all the same. Besides our easter Eggers, she has the smallest comb.
BUBBLES & DOODOO
Born in April 2024, these two have been a fun addition to the flock. They are zippy and are not scared to flex on Bop. They did not get the memo they were supposed to be his new girlfriends to give Pika a bit of a break. They all get along though and love to do duck things.
POE
Giving us Raven vibes as a baby, Poe was named after Edgar Allen himself. She is a team player and generally gets along with everyone. Maybe she writes poetry, I don’t know.
JOYCE
Similar to Joyce Beyers from Stranger Things, Joyce has grown into a strong confident Hen. She might be 2nd in ranks from the looks of things and has a strong egg laying song.
