FAMILY FARMING
Grizzard Farms and Nurseries is run by Charlie Grizzard, with the support of his wife, Michelle, and his parents. Charlie’s passion for agriculture and horticulture was passed down from his family who have farmed in Virginia for over 200 years. About ten years ago his parents moved to the Cheriton Virginia, where he helped them revive an abandoned house built in the 1800s. They decided to cultivate the land on the property to create what is now Grizzard Farms and Nurseries.
This past year, Michelle and Charlie made the decision to move to Cheriton too! Both born and raised in Norfolk VA, it was clear the next step for them was to be closer to his parents, but also closer to the farm life that Charlie loves. Within 3 months of living here, they have already added 10 baby chicks to the Grizzard roster!
Grizzard Farms produces a variety of Pumpkins, Hayman Sweet Potatoes, Potted and Cut Flowers, and they have grown Industrial Hemp in past years!
Recently they began selling their Chicken and Duck “seeds” from their very spoiled flock.
